Rupert Sheldrake is a hero. But because it really is legitimately bad form for real heroes to call themselves heroes he isn’t about to do that. It’s kind of like that with poets too. One really shouldn’t call oneself a poet; that should be a title bestowed upon him or her by others, and then readily denied by the poet. Rupert Sheldrake, as we all know, receives a lot of guff from, and is often dismissed out of hand by the scientific establishment because the scientific establishment is “right” about all it surveys. It doesn’t bother surveying whatever it can’t be right about. The word for that approach incidentally is “cowardice”. Sheldrake, on the other hand, is always keenly aware that his ideas and hypotheses may just as easily be wrong as right. The word for that approach is “integrity”. Now, the fact that the nature of consciousness was given the name ”The Hard Problem” by the self same scientific establishment that isn’t interested in even trying to solve it should tell us something meaningful. What’s more, the fact that the scientific establishment is responsible for naming it “The Hard Problem” should be a clue that they are the ones making the claim that a problem even exists. In other words, they are the ones with the problem. Most reasonable people don’t have a ‘problem’ with the nature of consciousness at all. That we are indeed conscious beings is so blatantly obvious on the face of it that we don’t see there is any problem needing a solution.

Brain doesnt exist. "Brain" is just an idea in consciousness. For more details, see my papers about consciousness, like "Meaning and Context: A Brief Introduction".
