I think this is the most aggressive (ly positive of course) Scott has ever been in a video, which is kinda intimidating but also funny because he's not good at being aggressive at all :) ❤

As an art supplies hoarder, I needed to hear this.

I used to be afraid of "ruining" my art through trying new stuff but it finally clicked with me that the art piece im working on is one of many and it doesnt matter

Absolutely love the video and fully relate to the message. Only thing I dislike is tearing up the piece at the end. Bad art is something you put the effort into making, and it has value because of that. Keep on creating everyone!

Agressive support is now one of my favorite encouragements

I love the combination of night and day in the lighting, but night and day cannot exist at the same time so I understand how the paradox would rip the artwork into shreds

This is a really good reminder. The only art supplies I have ever wasted are the ones I never used. The markers that were left caped and dried out. The decades old acrylics in unopened tubes that I could not reconstitute. Those were a waste of money not because I bought them, but because they never touched paper.😢

This is really good advice. I have a bit of a habit I've been trying to break, of only ever drawing things I knew I wasn't terrible at. Recently though I've found that sketching 10 bad hands in a day led to a lot more improvement than letting the fear of making bad art make me attempt them only once every few months

😂 I'm stealing that line, "someone get me my fainting chair."

LOVE this message! Even if we make BAD art, we can learn something from it so we are just learning what we like and don't like! Also, it's important to not be so worried about wasting art materials. They are there to be used, so we should! Just like you so eloquently said ❤

This video was really well timed. I was struggling so bad just before to get stuff correct on a drawing and tried so many times and got mad over it not being perfect, but this video cheered me up, a lot. Thanks :)

I want to say that I am glad that I found your channel, especially since I’m still on my art journey. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to you ripping your own pieces though. I understood the message but you know 😅

Nice message, but to be honest when we look at one of your video making good art, and then we try to do something that look at least half as good and don't get it we got frustrated, that's the reason no one likes doing bad art 😅

Thank you, Scott! This point of view has been so liberating to me as both a writer and an artist. Fighting the feeling that everything I do has to be “good” (by some undefined and unachievable metric of course) in order to be worth while is so paralyzing. I’ve spent the past few years learning to make my art just for myself and for fun, and it’s so liberating. You are so so right ❤

Thank you for the advice, Scott! Many times I feel frustrated in my bad art days. It's a bit hard to keep motivated when I start badly... Hopefully I get used to it and start enjoying the process even when I have no idea in what direction my art is going :)
