I'm ex RAF air traffic and Sqn Ops. I knew a guy who had a version of Top Gun which lasted some 27 minutes long, he edited out all the non flying parts. He was a RAF F4 navigator, Chris "CJ" Weightman. He and his pilot Ian "Mongo" Holden will forever be on Ops and Patrol over the Falkland Islands. When ever I hear this or watch both movies, I raise a glass to CJ.

My Daddy took me to see this movie in Fort Polk, LA. He was a Vietnam Vet. I joined the Navy in 93 and served in VAQ-130. My Teeth rattled when I stood between 2 14s lighting up at military on cats 3 and 4 at dusk in the Caribbean in 95. Mr. Cruise is the best recruiter the US ever had. I love Mr. Cruise.
