I used Miley Cyrus songs I used to grieve to when I was little for this video because I got her around that same time period - I thought it was fitting, even in a sad way. I wanted to make this special for her.

This dog grew up with me and went through all my milestones with me. We got her right after we got back from California when I was only eight years old, so I genuinely only know my life with her in it. She watched me attend my first new school, make my first friend, exit elementary school, start middle school, start high school, graduate high school, move out of my childhood home, start college - hell, she was literally with me when I went to pick up my very first college textbooks - she watched me get my first job, first ID, she watched me become an adult, vote for the first time, turn 21, and try my first alcoholic beverage. She never left my side when I got my very first period and after I had one of my ovaries taken out she was glued to my side. No matter how sad or angry I was, that little dog's paw was always on my leg. I can't name a single important event in my life that she wasn't there for. I've not only grown up with this dog, but she was practically a part of me. Words can't describe how hard it's going to be coming home from work and school now without her to snuggle my weary head up to. She was always there for me, and now I don't even like coming home anymore knowing she's not there to greet me anymore. Finding a new reality without her has been a nightmare but I'll get through it - I know she wouldn't be happy unless I did. She hated seeing anyone upset, so I have to be happy for her. It's what she always did for me, always playing with us to distract us from our sorrows. She taught me how to take care of another life form besides myself, and how to love other living things again, much less trust. Without her, I don't know who I'd be. I'm going to take everything that sweet little dog taught me and use it well, just to ensure I honor her well. She deserves nothing less but the absolute best of me, so even if I wasn't healthy enough to give that to her while she was here, I can honor her by being who she would've wanted me to be anyway, whether she's here or not. She only wanted to see me happy, and I want to pay that forward. I'll always love her so much, beyond words...
