In this video, I introduce a few classics and then discuss the biggest examples from modern day hip-hop (around 2008-nowish). What are your rankings of these posse cuts? 1. 1 train (absolutely insane execution) 2. Oldie (probably placed higher because of the video and context in history) 3. Forever (each verse hits so hard. A legitimate anthem) 4. Really Doe (insane production and verses all around but just too lowkey to be any higher for me) 5. Mercy (Absolute banger. The way Kanye’s verse leads into 2Chainz’s is so genius) 6. So Appalled (Great track but doesn’t feel as big as the others, probably because of its spot in MBDTF) 7. Swagga Like Us (Good song. Easily last)

Surprised I’m not seeing more love for Freddie Gibbs’ Piñata. Great closer for a classic album, everyone brings great and unique energy, and Madlib absolutely nailed the production

1. 1Train- an absolute banger. The gold standard in posse cuts 2. Really Doe- I really love Danny Brown's part, which is fitting since it's his song. 3. Mercy- I think 2chainz makes this hella fun 4. RAF- it's not always you get to hear Frank Ocean rap and fucking kill it 5. Oldie- just an overall fun video and song

Surprised R.A.F. didn't make the cut, it was a massive success and had some incredible verses on it. Don't think it would be DQ'd by the existing rules either, but hey, your video at the end of the day. More quality content as always!!

YOU FORGOT CHAMPIONS. Definitely my favorite Posse cut and I don’t even love half the people on it like Quavo and Gucci Mane and they are amazing on it.

I can think of some really good ones off the top of my head... Oldie, So Appalled, 1Train, Pinata... I think that "Strangers" off the new Black Thought album with Rocky and RTJ could go down in history as a legendary posse cut.

NYNEX by billy woods, E L U C I D, Quelle Chris and Denmark Vessey only came out this year but its easily my favorite posse cut ever. all of them work insanely well with each other and some of the best lines we've heard from any of them.

1Train clears all of these, every verse is incredible and the energy doesn't stop from start to finish

Detroit Vs Everybody is the ultimate posse cut of this generation • Royce, Eminem, Big Sean, Danny Brown rapping together for a Detroit-centered track • Dope music video • Fire beat • Dej Loaf doing hook vocals • Extremely great chemistry • Badass energy

I think In The Fire by Dave (feat. Fredo, Meekz, Ghetts and Giggs) is absolutely up there. My favourite song of last year and the Brits performance (available on YouTube) is an absolute masterclass with choir guitar solo and just elevates it even higher. It's everything that's great about Posse Cuts. All with very different energies, no hook just speaking from the heart, super soulful instrumental too

I think Eminem’s yah yah off of music to be murder by is a strong contender. It brings back the old school style in (what I would call) a beautiful homage with the busta sample. But also it’s revamped with the new energy flow you hear it rap songs today. Also Q-tips chorus black thoughts whole verse and Eminem’s line “we had a baby named it machine gun Kelly” is what I come back for

My list is : 1. Really Doe 2. 1Train 3. So Appalled 4. Mercy 5. Forever 6. Oldie 7. Swagga Like Us For me its without a doubt Really Doe. Im definitely biased here since AE is one of my favorite albums of all time, but really everything about the track is perfect. The flows, the energy, the verses, the eerie beat and a fantastic selection of rappers. Easily one of the best posee cuts of all time imo.

A lot of the best posse cuts of this generation come from the Griselda camp to be honest, and a lot of the underground scene. But out of these picks... Really Doe steals the show for me, especially that final verse! And 2 Chainz on Mercy... wow...
