10:00 Normalizing failure is why I adore engineering/maker YouTubers.
My close family member works in education and they noticed the fear of failure is rampant among young people today. Making mistakes and failure has become less common in their childhoods thanks to the access to essentially any answer to any question, grade inflation in many schools, participation medals and generally higher expectations & standards they feel like they need to measure up to thanks to social media. YouTubers now sharing their failures in their content feels like a good step towards undoing the harm caused by picture perfect Instagram influencers and other flawless study-tubers.

Love seeing Mark on the channel, he's the ultimate combination of science, engineering, learning and fun. Going even deeper into the "Maker" spacer it would be great to see Colin Furze on the show. He's making some big moves with a big new facility instead of his tiny backyard shop. I think there's a great story in there about growth, authenticity, and how he's approaching that transition with his audience.

I love the fact that his latest video was posted on the same day as this one and at 15:21 on the video ideas wall you can see the egg drop from space 😂

16:45 It’s so interesting to hear Mark say, “This isn’t what Mark Rober does.” It’s wild to hear him think about himself like a brand with a reputation, and how he avoids actions that betray that brand, even if it’s something as good as giving away money
