Laura Branigan was definitely one of the most underrated singers. Why is it that the underrated singers are the good ones? Laura was beyond awesome. I first heard her music when I was 8 or 9. I’m 29 now. My favorite songs by her are Self Control, The Lucky One and of course Forever Young. Self Control is badass because of that guitar solo in the beginning. That part never gets old. RIP Laura. You were too young

Her beauty, warm smile, and genuine connection with her audience are testimony of her uniqueness. Each time I hear Laura sing, see her movements (even subtle acknowledgement of her audience such as "waving" with one of her index fingers towards her fans while holding the microphone, touching her lips and directing her index finger to her audience as a gesture of "kissing" those she loves, or going directly out to her audience while engaging them), or listen to her voice while interviewing or cooking, I must dance. Laura was beautiful, talented, genuine, real, and so underappreciated. She deserved so much more. She didn't have that "Diva, I'm a celebrity attitude". She loved her fans and knew they were the reason she was doing what she loved. RIP Laura. I expect a song when I get to heaven someday.
