Death Cab for Cutie rose from being a side project to becoming one of the most exciting groups on the indie rock scene of the 2000's, with their emotive songwriting and cross-genre sound landing somewhere between indie and emo. I shared a clove cigarette with a beautiful girl last weekend, on the high balcony of the Foundation Room, in Vegas. It was a great view and she was a sweet girl. She was from Washington and I'm from Ohio. We were both on vacation, trying to ecscape the cold back home. I ran out of smokes and she had one last clove cig left. I hit it a few times, we talked for awhile and parted ways. The next day, on Venice Beach, I heard this song for the first time. It was almost perfect. Popped up randomly on a Shins playlist. I'll keep that memory with me for a long time and I'll think of it whenever I hear this song. I wish I could remember her name. What a shame......
