it’s hard to imagine an asteroid traveling at 33,500 mph, but thank god Shane told us to imagine a jar of peanut butter traveling at 33,500 mph. really puts things into perspective

ryan presents like a detective while shane presents like a professor fr its a vibe

If you're wondering how 80 million trees could be flattened like that, imagine 80 million jars of peanut butter being slammed into the ground.

My roommate once said that it's absolutely wild to them that Shane and Ryan only met for the first time as adults because they have the vibe of two friends who grew up together into one of those shared braincell friendships.

Shane's repeated reuse of the peanut butter analogy in spite of it reliably and clearly not working is a mood.

The constant acknowledgment of Ryan’s betrayal of the Professor across shows is just amazing every time

ryan going “you missed” and then immediately switching to “no you hit me” when shane started to aim the blast wave thing again is such peak sibling energy

Love that Ryan and Shane casually forgot that after World War I, the was an entire revolution and upheaval of the Russian government, meaning that a government funded expedition into a remote and sparsely inhabited area was MAYBE not a top priority for a while.

Shane's such a great presenter. It's crazy that we haven't seen him present anything since Ruining History. He should collab with the Professor some day.

I didn’t quite understand the maths until Shane turned it into the peanut butter thing and honestly that helped a lot

If Shane was a college professor and his lectures were like this, I'd never skip class.

when shane stands in front of the projector around 21:44 the light makes it look like he’s wearing teeny tiny shorts

Ryan’s complete overreaction to being blasted with a puff of wind from a literal children’s toy was everything I needed today. 😂

My eight grade history teacher once pulled one of those blast wave things out of his supply closet and proceeded to use it around the room. I need everyone to know Ryan is screaming over something that feels like a light breeze

Ryan begging for his life over a light breeze is everything I needed

I was a bit confused on how big the astroid was, but when Shane compared it to peanut butter jars, it made complete sense.

I love how Ryan earnestly urges Shane not to predict an asteroid strike in the next 20 years, as if Shane predicting the pandemic made it happen

Watcher's quality over quantity format is something I wholeheartedly respect

How Shane's first mystery wasn't the dancing plague of 1518 will always astound me
