Frankincense and myrrh are perhaps best known for their biblical connotations. But this tree sap has been prized across the world for over 6,000 years. These fragrant incense pieces come from the Burseraceae family of trees and are found across the Horn of Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

trees that are able to grow in unforgiving conditions, even out of solid rock. kinda like a rose that's able to grow out of concrete 🌹 like a person who is still able to maintain a pure heart and a humble spirit despite growing up around unforgiving and intolerable family members

Ethiopian Frankincense is definitely in my top three, right next to Somali and Omani Frankincense. When it comes to Myrrhe, Somali Myrrhe is Nr.1, hands down.

How is it so resilient that it grows on rocks, but they still fail to grow the seedlings?

I wonder if it always smells good working in the factory or if it goes away. I tried keeping coffee next to my bed because of the smell but after a few hours it didn't smell good didn't smell bad but it didn't smell

I'm pretty sure these trees don't need any protection if they're making $6,000 per litre from it's essential oil. The trees probably get better protection and healthcare than the humans who farm them.

Does the bark regrow? If it does how long does it take? If it doesn't then it must kill the tree.

Frankincense drops have helped me so much with my health issues. Maybe humans shouldn’t waste it by burning it for religious ceremonies. 🤔

Thank you for this informative viedeo. I liked the unhurried voice of the presenter , easy on the ear. I hope these precious trees will be protected. Iam surprised though that people in ancient civilisations, often in times of scarcity, were prepared to pay so much money for something that is not essential for survival.
