You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth! My kids have been listening to you literally since before they were born...They are both grown now & they LOVE you! My son is the one that took me to the 2 Meat Loaf concerts I have been to, but I wouldn't have taken my 2 yr old grandson because rock concerts just aren't appropriate for children. But he already loves your music ! You are truly the God of Sax & Drums & Rock 'n' Roll ! Don't ever change! Love Ya!

I have met Meat Loaf's daughter Pearl & let me tell you, she is one of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met in my life !! She did a meet & greet after a concert where she opened for her dad , {Both of them rocked the stage} & she is sweet, & talented and a genuinely nice person. Definitely the product of responsible & caring parenting !!! That woman could learn a lot from you. Good job, Meat !!!!

I'm mum of two 6 & 2 year old, and I have to say that I fully agree with you! The education goes at the very first from the parents and the way they deal with all the extarnal influence that can fall on their children. So, when parents are there to give the right example, whatever influence is, it will not have much impact. My 6 year old is actually listen to rock, by tv have heard the kind of language you mention, but no way, god, no way she never ever uses it! By the way, thx for great music!

Bottom line, you and your beautiful daughters are indeed the most gracious, decent, courageous and unprejudiced people one could wish to meet. A rock concert is a vibrant and colourful piece in the tapestry of our lives; but it is just that, and how we live our lives and how we treat others has the most importance. A response which exemplifies how decently you live yours.

spot on Meat it IS 2011 and everyone has to take responsability for thier actions.
if you take a kid to an inapropriate place it is not the fault of the venue , it is your fault for not checking where you take them, if you make a mistake , grow up and explain to the kids what is and isnt ok and answer thier questions honestly dont teach them to lie or blame others needlessly...good work Mr Aday keep it up

I agree with you, my children have heard lots of swear words and they too are the most open minded, non prejudiced and totally nonjudgmental people that I have the pleasure to know - they are like your daughters, polite, kind and accepting of others. I think when we teach our children to be offended by words we teach them to be fearful of others x
You don't need to be sorry :) x

thats what i tell my mom every day," mom its the year 2011, everyone uses bad words". I have an 8 year old and i have taught her to not repeat those words, and shes so awesome that she identifies them and knows exactly which they are and does not repeat them, we call them grown ups words jeje and it works!!!!! i can even let some slip and know that she wont say them back. It as easy as teaching our kids, thats all, teaching!!! with love and respect.

Cussing is a form of expression, freedom of expression, freedom of speech overides any kind of rule. You don't have to apologize to her, she owes you a apology for her ignorance, being a prude. she comes across close minded, petty, and intolerant, has it occured to this lady, cussing teaches children reality and the facts of life as well

Well said Meat, the world is full of all sorts of stuff, and after all they are only words.
The trick is teaching kids WHERE it's apropreate to use these words, NOT to ban them completely, because no matter WHAT you do or HOW you bring them up, they will hear these words somewhere, probably at school.

I took my 10 yr old to the Pitt concert. The language was nothing she hasn't heard at school or around in public. She was shocked by seeing the Paradise by the dashboard lights performance, but we prepared her for it and it opened discussions if she wanted to talk. Your music is alot better than 90% of the songs out there as far as lyrics. Please, my daughter says Bat out of H-E double hockeysticks by her choice. We have open door policy and we are responsible parents.

So proud that you put your reply to Barb up for others to read so that they can really come to know you. Meat, I have been a fan since 77 while serving in the Navy, when I first listened to BOOH. Your honesty, dedication to your art, support for our men and women in service, your love for your nation and your faith in God, makes me so happy to call you a role model and a friend. This world needs more people like you Meat. Thank you for caring. Love you brother. Play it Loud, Play it Proud!
