I'm a few yrs older than you, what some may call an elder Emo. I can tell you that every year older, the less desire you have to be in packed crowds getting price gouged at every turn. The irony is in the name of this one.....When we were young- this would have been a lot more fun. I'd much rather just get really giod tickets to see a legacy band directly or check out a smaller new artist. Of course we will always love these big names but without supporting newer artists, the genre along with different types of "rock" will continue dying. Big festivals tend to only be packed with the same legacy bands who would have headlined 10 or 20 yrs ago.

Attended the 29th show and loved it, you make valid points throughout the video and I thank you for that. Hopefully if anyone is going next be prepared 1. Bring a camel pack or clear bottle with a clip. 2. Eat prior while they do sell food keep in mind food is pricey ( you can get small snacks in if in pockets ). 3. Look at the map see where everything is though it may not be the same next year. 4. Don't sit please if you know you get tired from standing and don't go to the pit area if you are an easily tired person. 5. Don't bring things you can't carry as mentioned lockers are small and from what I've seen are pretty far especially from main stage. 6. Plan who you want to see and who you're willing to miss as mentioned they gave us set times use it wisely (we decided to stay at the main stage all day. Me and my gf enjoyed it fully even with being hungry and thirsty a good portion of the day we are 34 and 29 if age helps for anything mentioned mentioned.

Thank you for this review. I almost cried when I decided I didn’t want to go when my friend had gotten extra tickets and offered me one. I’m 36. I have 3 kids. These bands are my literal angst teen outlet. I so badly wanted to go but when I really thought about it I decided I’d rather go to my sons soccer game and church on Sunday… and not be stepped on and smashed up on by sweaty people only to see ant size versions of the bands I love. I stayed in my little corner of Vegas and I’m so happy for it 😂

While festivals have always been crowded and overpriced, something has changed since before the lockdowns. People. Before, everyone was happy to be where they were. Yea, we always had "those guys" who were idiots doing idiot, annoying things. However now it feels like everyone is trying to make up for lost time, they're going to get their money's worth, and it's all about them. People are no longer patient or kind. I've really noticed it at some german shows/festivals earlier this year where there's been behaviour I've never witnessed pre-pandemic. It's really a shame since live shows are an absolute love of mine.

I’m glad I got to see My Chem when they came to Newark. When the line up for this festival was shown of course I freaked out. This is my middle school dream but I knew the outcome of going to something like that. I agree with your last sentiments. I’d rather save all of my money for when they come to my town.
