It's not only about the food, it's about walking/cycling more, and not just driving your own car everywhere.

Rules of thumb : the more you move to the north of Europe, the more vegetables are replaced by potatoes with cream.

I think the main thing is the walkability of Europe in general vs driving everywhere in North America.

The issue is the sweeds stop eating when they're full. And there food doesn't have too much sugar, corn syrup, excess salt, cheese etc. And their portion sizes are most likely in line with how much calories ir takes to sustain a healthy diet. Unlike America. That's the only place o traveled to in the wirld where ive had visceral reaction to their food.

You decide what you eat! :) No Swede has fikabröd to every fika, just coffe! :)

We don’t actually eat fika that often😂 Maybe twice a week on the weekends and when you are over at peoples houses but the rest you can pick yourself. But yeah, gräddsås (cream sauce) is like the best thing ever, especially on köttbullar (meatballs)

I lived in Sweden for a few months and completely walked the tread off of a pair of combat boots. It's definitely the walking. 😂

Fika every day is much more an older generation thing. My grandparents will sit down and fika every day, with coffee and at least two types of cookies, but my parents only fika if they are visiting my grandparents. I mean really less than once a year will they have a proper fika, and while it might be more common among people who have friends to fika with, I don't know a whole lot of people my age who does it very often either.

Swedes are much better at moderation. Fika does not mean you have to eat cake. Just coffee is fine. And meal portions are about half the size compared to US sizes.

When we visited India for a month and a half, I ate my fill (including desserts) and lost almost 10 pounds without trying. I think it’s the walking and that the food there is more natural. So I bet you’ll still be healthier as there are probably less processed stuff if the foods there

"Kokainet här väcker upp dig som en kalldusch". Interesting song for a food video :'D

The food outside of America just hits differently. I studied abroad in Morocco and definitely ate more food there than I do at home. But it was all fresh, unprocessed food. I lost weight.

The secret lies in the serving sizes and eating until you're not hungry anymore, not till you're full.
