www.aearibbonmics.com/aea-sessions/ In this previously unreleased AEA Sessions video from 2020, the featured artist is Andy Shauf. He performs a stripped-down version of "Changer," which is the final track from his 2020 album "The Neon Skyline." The performance consists solely of Shauf's voice and guitar, providing a raw and intimate listening experience.
The KU5A was developed with the vocalist in mind. Its end-address directionality and tight supercardioid pattern make it ideal for focusing on a vocal while rejecting excessive bleed from other sources in a space. The N22 is a near-field ribbon microphone adept at capturing instruments from close up, with less low-end proximity effect. These mics work together brilliantly to capture a singer-songwriter like Andy Shauf
(Although the R88 appears in the video, none of its signal was used in the final mix.)
