What impresses me most is that one of the largest animals to ever exist is the blue whale and that it’s still alive today. Absolutely extraordinary. This is what makes me believe the world was once full of giants if something like the blue whale still exists!

The man of war is nowhere that size. It's about 30 centimetres across! The tentacles can be 160 feet, but only because its a cluster of living organisms, it would be virtually invisible compared to the diver from that distance, like a super long earthworm.

Taking some creative liberty with the Man-O-War I see. Those can grow any where between 30-100 ft but they are most certainly not that big. Maybe the size of an average housecat.

Anyone else watch that it took the swimmer about 7 seconds to pass underneath that Man O War and did the math to realize that he’s swimming at about 22 or 23mph? That’s about 4 times faster than Michael Phelps in his prime. Maybe I’m just weird.

Thanks for this compilation, always love being able to see how big some of these animals are/were compared to us. Could add in the ages of when they lived or are still living, too. Great job!

Having the estimated date that these creatures existed in the added details would’ve been a nice touch

Some funny mix-ups here. Pliosaurus (a pliosaur) is depicted as an icthyosaur, while Shastaurus (an icthyosaur) is depicted as a pliosaur. Maybe they got switched? And the Shonisaurus and "Shastasaurus"/Pliosaur models have weird horizontal tail flukes, like whales. Icthyosaurs all had vertical tail fins and pliosaurs likely didn't have them at all.

I always thought the Xiphactinus at 1:21 and Dunkleosteus at 1:33 would be the most terrifying thing to encounter underwater Just their face alone is enough to scare the crap out of you

Not to scale: I think the appearance of the sizes are larger than what they really are. Example: if the swimmer is on average 6ft and the Elasmosaurus is 46ft @3:10 why does it appear that the Elasmosaurus is maybe 16 times larger than the swimmer when it should only be less than 8 times larger. This Elasmosaurus appears to be roughly 100ft long not 46ft

Great job! Just put a some what translucent box around the information so it can be seen a little bit better, but gteat job, and thanks for putting both units of measurements, so many people just put one or the other.

Good job, but I prefer the kind of comparison shown in the thumbnail.

I often think some sea animals are smaller ... for example the anglerfish ... thanx for this video. very interesting. just for all to know ... the man o war is not a jellyfish ...
