The Alan nightmare actually starts off scary and creepy enough, with no one flying the plane and the ominous music perfectly conveying how uncomfortable the situation is. Plus, the raptor saying Alan is so random it's kind of creepy. The fact that they don't reference it further or showcase Alan's PTSD from dealing with raptors is a major missed opportunity to build on it.

I have to say I disagree with people who say this film needed an antagonist, one of the things I appreciated about this movie is it shows that the dinosaurs are the real threat, it makes you feel hopelessness along with the characters. Anyone can die. Where as in JW trilogy, the dinosaurs are just there for plot armor to remove the morally apprehensible characters, god I hate those movies lol

"The spinosaurus is my favorite here, but we know its not accurate", yeah... not accurate nowdays. When this movie came out, this was THE MOST accurate spinosaurus ever was, and basically shaped how we saw the animal for a long time... until some asshole decided it should gorilla walk in 2014 (god I hate the knucle walk theory they had)

I really liked that Grant and Ellie's relationship ended up this way... that they seemed to maintain a fairly good healthy friendship even though they went seperate ways romantically, to the point that he's even welcomed into their lives and their kids life. You don't see that kind of non toxic and non romantic relationship often enough in movies.

Okay, so, I see this on almost every Jurassic Park 3 video that I watched. Everyone always asks how did Eric get the T-Rex piss? Well if you read between the lines, you'll realize that he wears camouflage clothing and has rubbed dirt all over himself to hide his scent and has also been to the InGen facility to get supplies. So that means that he was out exploring the island and came across a T-Rex. We know he's read Allen Grant's book so he knows that the T-Rex vision is based on movement so he stayed perfectly still, but the T-Rex that he found was marking its territory. The T-Rex cock its leg and pissed all over him and then he just rang out his piss covered clothes into a vial. It's really not that hard, I mean, how do you think he survived on an island full of predatory dinosaurs but knows about the Spino? He's covered in the territory marking urine of a Bull T-Rex so no other predator would dare come near him but the Spino aka "it attracts a really big one with a fin" would be actively stalking him since it's always looking for another big dino to kill.

It’s so nice to see praise for this film. I’ve seen slander against it time and time again and this films always had a pleasant little spot in my heart, especially the raptors not being mindless hungry monsters but a functioning family only wanting their young back. Thank you for this! Your praise, and criticisms, are most welcome.

Hey Ancient, they do mention the PTSD a little bit!! During the kitchen scene with Ellie, after he tries to get the parrot to say his name, he asks Ellie if she remembers the sounds the raptors made, and in a super realistic and somber way she just looks him in the eyes and says, "I try not to.." That part really stuck out to me, the fact everyone raves in the existence of dinosaurs but they truly are reminded of what happened.

Jurassic Park 3 honestly has more in it from Michael Crichton's books than the second movie does. The Pteranodon aviary and the river boat are from the first book, the young guy's character is from the second book and so is the egg-stealing plotpoint. You could even argue that Kirby's weekend warrior mercenaries resemble Dodgson's lackeys in book 2.

It is underrated in some areas, certainly. Especially Grant's lecture. "Dinosaurs died 65 million years ago. What is left of them is bones, and it is in those bones that true scientists make discoveries. What John Hammond and Ingen did is create theme park monsters. Nothing more, nothing less".
