Hubs &I were there in 1991. 2 men digging invited us to get in their dig & use trawls & brushes.to join in. In the rain, 1 of only times in 26 days of travel in england. Hubs found a bit of buckle & what was told to us , part of a sandal. Than we were taken to museum, ( which was closed that day), shown were to clean up a bit. Shown around by an older gentleman & offered tea. Since it was getting on the day we had to decline, thank all for an amazing experience. What a memory. I am enchanted with each of your posted digs. Never disappointed.

I visited this site around 2 years ago. You would never know most of this was in the surrounding area just by looking! This is one place I hope time team can revisit just with the scale of the site and how complete a lot of structures are inside of the fort. There were some more recent excavations being carried out when I visited which showed large complete walls inside of the fort. I can recommend any time team or British roman history fan to visit, itâs really fascinating!

Years ago I clicked on a link called 'street of the dead'.
The rest, as they say, is history. I'm a fan of Time Team. It's so interesting, the content is so well presented by all involved. I'm glad Reijer Zaaijer brought them to my attention, and now Time Team itself uploaded the series and I watch them all again. Thank you!!
But this was the very very first one :).

This feels like a throwback to a happier, more wholesome time. I wish Time Team had never been cancelled!
