I’ve been playing by ear for 20 years off and on. Been in a multi year rut. Never gave music theory the time of day and rarely knew which note I was playing until a few months ago. Watching a video from zombie guitar about pentatonic major/minor scales and with very basic knowledge about the notes on the E and A string, I’ve finally played through a backing track without hitting a wrong note!!! I’m still no Hendrix or Santana, but I’m excited to be as excited as I was 15 years ago!!
