I was in a long distance relationship with a guy in Montana and I was living in Florida. We always expected to move in together in Montana after months of me going there every few weeks. When the time came for us to move in together we actually ended the relationship and I left Montana for the last time on a greyhound. I have always loved Empire of the Sun but this song particularly was one I always favored more bc of the soul and beauty it conveys. I remember watching the snowy Pacific Northwest fade away while the blue and green of the south started surrounding me and this song would play several times during that trip since I was just listening to my own Spotify mix. Once I was in Atlanta bringing in the last leg of my trip it played again and I burst into tears bc I knew once I got to Ft Lauderdale I wouldn't be leaving again. It was bittersweet bc on the one hand I knew I'd miss my ex but on the other I hated Montana and could not wait to feel the ocean sand and remind myself that there are reasons people who are happy where they are rarely ever leave.

This song reminds me of my early 20s when I was an overseas student in the US, alone most of the time but so carefree. I spent most of my free time exploring the nature, the old towns, and taking photos. Beautiful and peaceful time!

Empire Of The Sun has really outdone themselves with this one. This song is breathtaking and has an almost ethereal feel to it. I love how the background comes to life while the song is playing.
