My daughter, only 32yrs old, has just passed away after a battle with cancer for 18 months and this song/vid truly reflects my loss. As much as it hurts listening to this song and watching the storyline it is comforting to know I am not alone in grief. Thank you.

As a father myself I can't imagine the pain of losing my daughter. I am forever grateful for her health and for being able to ensure her wellbeing... I fear letting her go in this utterly spoiled world when she will grow up, but it cannot be helped. Nobody tells you about the challenging feelings you experience as a parent. I regularly stop by here to remind myself to be grateful.

The symbolism in this video is mind blowing. Three parts to pay attention to: The old man, the dog, the birds.
The old man is a symbol of the god Odin, often depicted as an old man with a beard carrying a spear (or in this case, a gun). He presided over the land of Valhalla. Odin was often accompanied by a wolf. The birds symbolize Huginn and Muninn, which are a pair of ravens. Their names translate as "thought" (Huginn) and "memory" (Muninn). Every morning, the two ravens would set out and fly all over the world. Every night they would return to Odin and bring him knowledge and news from his kingdom.

In the Poetic Edda, Odin expresses concern that the birds will not come back from their daily flight. I believe this video is about that. The old man's daughter has died. The song is from the voice of the daughter/bird, trying to tell him what she remembers from her flight. She remembers the flash of white, turning to black, and being pulled out to sea. She remembers her death.

But the old man doesn't want to accept that, and every day he sets out to look for her. You'll notice that the first bird in the video immediately catches his attention, only to be followed by a look of disappointment. Just like Odin in Edda, every parent fears for the safety of their children. The old man doesn't want to accept that the worst has happened, so every night, he returns to his throne, watching and hoping for her return. His faithful wolf remains at his side, but he his lost without his birds who brought him knowledge and memories. The bird is herself now just a memory, and the great Odin is now a broken man.

I lost my niece who was a daughter to me 10 months ago. She was only 17. I stumbled upon 'Running to the Sea' and 'Something in my Heart' by mere chance. These two songs kept me from losing it. Thank you. Never stop doing what you love.

This song is a reminder that there are so many lonely people in this world, whether rich or poor, developed or developing countries fighting their own personal and inner "demons. This thing call life is so fleeting though some would think they are immortal. Despite all that, we have to live and give, take nothing for granted, breathe and cry, laugh and eat, make love, give compassion and look out for your neighbour, even if it once in a while...check in on families an old friend just to say "Hi". Even if you have only one piece of bread please share with someone in need. PEACE, LOVE, HEALTH & TRAVEL LIGHT::))))))

In memory of my very brave friend Evita Fytrou.
Evita lost tragically her life among 102 people on Monday July 23 2018 in Mati, Greece after witnessing the death of her father and her little brother in the fire. She was running towards the sea in order to save herself from the flames and lost her life by falling from a cliff. Did the smoke blinded her and thought she would fall in the water? Did she jump to her death in order to end the pain? Uguess we will never know. One thing is for sure, I won't forget you Evita.
My deepest respect to anyone who lost a loved one in this horrible disaster.
This wasn't fair.
We can't forget this.

My dad was a fisherman, he died in 2015, we were living in different cities, our relationship was never the dream one all I had was memories from the past from our country house, but I loved him. I didn't have his future but I had his past, I had those old negatives, I used to watch them growing up, he always enjoyed nature and fishing, he had a german shepherd. When I got the news I was listening to this song and I was high af. It was just a coincidence, I always loved Royskopp but this was a coincidence. It was 2015 9th of Jan when we lost him. Since 2015 I come back here every year to see what happened. So thank you for this, I couldn't have asked for something better. He was cool all above even though I never got to live with him, I lived him
