Iām 61 and I will never go gray! I donāt like gray hair on me, it makes me feel and look old. Everyone knows youāre old cause youāre gray! And as long as I am able to go to the salon and get my hair done, I will. Maybe in my 80,s I might consider it. Been highlighting my hair since my 20ās, Iām a young looking person for my age and I want my hair color to reflect my inner spirit. Iāve always felt like a blonde!!š©

At 70 I do cover my gray. First my husband who is 4 years younger has a full head of hair and very little grey and I donāt want to look like his grandmother. I only retired 2 years ago...a coworker, a good 15 years younger had beautiful salt and pepper hair. Even with her young looking skin, coworkers were always shocked that I was older at all. ( My skin is good but not to that extent.). My sister has gone grey and looks nice but my acquaintances say āsheās aged wellā, not ādoesnāt she look greatā. Finally, it is time consuming to color the gray and also add highlights but it is satisfying that it looks natural as does yourš beautiful hair, Angie. If vain, so be it.

Silver sister here! I started growing my silvers from really dark brown back in 2020. I took me a year to grow it enough to cut it into a short bob. I must admit that even though it was hard, I had a lot of fun styling my hair while going thru my zebra stage and people around me loved it! Now my hair is waist long and I will never go back to dying it. My hair has become my crown and it draws a LOT of attention, which I use to cheer and support the women that come up to me for advice. BTW, my hair is a lot healthier now. It is not wiry or frizzy and my curls have better definition and bounce.

Went gray almost 2 years ago at 65. It was a little dicey going from dark brown to what turned out to be silvery white but i started wondering why the men can get away with graying gracefully and we cant and got ticked off at the societal norm and wanted to be a part of the change.
I LOVE it. Your makeup and hair needs tweaked with the different hair tone but its been fun to experiment. You'll know when/if youre ever ready. My mom still dyes at 92!! Yikes!!!!

I wasn't planning on letting my natural grey hair grow out but, about 10 years ago, I developed a hair dye allergy. I stopped colouring my hair (which at that time was every two weeks) and am so happy that my hand was forced, so to speak. My hair is waist long, healthy and shiny with a gorgeous blend of natural highlights and lowlights. I get so many compliments from young and older women alike with the younger ones assuming that I've paid $$$ to have this colour done. Sometimes I have a nightmare that I've coloured my hair and am always so relieved when I wake up and realize that it was just a dream. I was pretty down in the dumps when my allergy started so I was happy to find Annika Von Holdt as a role model for what my hair could look like once all the dye was gone. It helped me realize that grey hair doesn't make you older - this is related to many factors including personal style. Anyhow, to each their own - everyone should do what makes them feel best. I will never be a slave to colouring again.

I am allergic to hair dye so when, as a blonde, I started going blah I used henna. After a while, it started going Lucille Ball red, so I stopped. Underneath was beautiful, platinum hair that I had been hiding without knowing it. I have never gone back and I am so happy that I am aging naturally and gracefully. I know thatās not for everyone, but for me, it has been the answer to freedom in my 80+ years. Great video.

Hi Angie! One of my mottos is āto each their ownā. I respect those who want to let their hair go grey but I know wholeheartedly it is not for me. I will continue to dye my hair till my last breath ā if of course I am able to. I think I inherited this trait (among others) from my Sicilian Diva Mom. She would get her hair colored religiously every 6-8 weeks and would coordinate her appointments with whatever events she had coming up. She also loved her makeup ā another trait I inherited. My mom always felt that grey made her look older than she felt (or was) and I guess I feel that way too. Anyway, I personally think your blonde hair looks stunning on you. It agrees with your skin color and eye color. However if you decide to go grey I will respect and support you. Like I said āto each their ownā.

For over a year I wanted to let my hair go grey, and my hairdresser jumped up and down screaming don't do it, you'll look older. Well, I had a bad reaction to color, and said screw it. My hair grew in thick and silver and grey and looked fantastic and healthy. I have people stop me in the street to compliment my hair. All I do is wash it, time and money saved, no awful smell and carcinogens. Don't hesitate if you are thinking about it. If you don't like it, you can always start coloring again. But I'll bet you won't!!
