Hi Mel, i write dark fantasy fiction, like very dark fiction which explores different sides. I have like 40K more words to complete it and I am so excited. My writing is pretty boring at some points but i would love to submit!

I love this idea of contests! I think it gets people more motivated to work on their book with the deadline in mind, regardless whether they get accepted or not. The last contest really made me push forward (although I now realise I don't particularly enjoy the story itself) and got me in the habit which is helping me in my new project. I won't be entering this contest but I'll use the same deadline to finish my drafts. Thank you team of Lost Island Press, you give us more motivation than you may think!β¨π

Hey, Mel. Iβm so excited for this upcoming event, and I wish the best of luck to everyone. Though, Iβm not sure my novel will be finished in time to submit. Is there a way to publish through Lost Island Press without submitting through a competition and simply pay the free versus join the competition? (I hope that makes sense). If we submit the first in a series what can we expect from LIP in the future? Will LIP pick up the rest of the series, or is it expected that the rest must be picked up by another publisher? Iβd imagine this may cause some difficulty as publishers will likely want rights to the whole series but maybe you can provide some clarification?
