Annie Lennox performs Love Song For A Vampre written for the soundtrack of Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula on Top Of The Pops in February of 1993. It featured as a double A-side with the song Little Bird from the album Diva.

"Many moons ago I was invited to write and record a song for Francis Ford Coppola’s ‘Love Song for a Vampire’… I’ve always loved Coppola films and was really excited at the prospect, so I immersed myself in the notion of ‘vampires’ - reading Anne Rice’s ‘Vampire Chronicles’ for inspiration. The song arrived quite easily and before long it was recorded.. All before I was able to view the film, as it was still being edited.
I had set the highest expectations
Back in the day, you couldn’t send ‘links’ or emails as we do now.
Eventually a video tape arrived and I was able to watch the film in it’s entirety.
Gary Oldman’s performance was absolutely extraordinary… I could watch it over and over again today just to witness the genius of his acting skills… The costumes, lighting and sets were outstanding, but overall it wasn’t what I’d expected and I felt a bit baffled by it.
Sophie ( Muller) shot my performance completely separately, after the fact, which was a bit risky, but fortunately it worked out in the end… Phew!
The world of film making is another universe when it comes to the Herculean effort and attention to detail made by actors, film makers, technical specialists, set makers and designers, wardrobe , make up, crew etc etc.
Hats off to all those people whose names come up at the end of every film I’ve ever seen!!! It’s team work on steroids".
