"There is no fear in George Foreman..."... the reason I looked up this fight is because I saw a clip of George talking about how he was scared and that his knees were shaking during that staredown. Really goes to show you that courage is not a lack of fear but the ability to overcome it. I think that's the message that should be sent by professional fighting. Anyone can be a warrior.

'Down Goes Frazier' is one of the most iconic calls in sports history.

Props to Frazier for never truly staying down. He took an uppercut that lifted him off the ground and he still got up, absolute refusal to give up

It brings tears to your eyes to hear the vehement and compassionate ringside screams from Muhammad Ali's trainer for Mercante to "STOP IT!! STOP IT!! STOP THE FUCKING FIGHT!!" as he rightly feared for Frazier's life

If they didn't stop it, Foreman would've knocked Frazier down a hundred times and Frazier would've gotten up a hundred times.

The way Frazier gets dropped at 6:37 only to be up on his feet in a few seconds with hardly any staggering is the freakiest most insane display of willpower

Man heartbreaking to hear Dundee shrieking "Stop it!". Foreman's punches that left cannonball sized indents in heavy bags are tagging Frazier's head at will. What courage it took for him to fight that man again.

The fourth knockdown is heartbreaking. Joe is showing his back to George and running away. Not because he is afraid, but because he doesn't know what he is doing anymore. And still keeps getting up to fight. What a man. Dundee was right to yell to stop it, because Joe would have died rather than give up.

One of the greatest fights I ever saw. My dad and I were watching on TV. We were shocked by the power of George Foreman. ....I miss you, Dad.

Some people claim that George Foreman is just a brute but he is clearly using technique. Notice how he manages to slip/parry/block some punches and pushing/pulling Frazier away for superior positions and favorable angles. George didn't win from sheer strength alone, there was skill and technique

Joe Frazier was one of the best heavyweights period. But his one flaw was that it took him a couple of rounds to develop a rhythm. So he was always vulnerable in the first and second round. And up against George Foreman, who had one of the most powerful jabs next to Sonny Liston, Frazier was in deep trouble right from the start.

The fact that Joe Frazier kept getting back up from those heavy bombs from the great George Forman shows that no other heavy weight fighter could actually knock Frazier out cold, any other man would have went straight to sleep after that second knock down from George, any other fighter probably would have been sleep for several minutes but Joe never closed his eyes and he would get right back up as if nothing just happened, I mean wow,Joe definitely have a strong chin on him.

Angelo Dundee screaming Stop it!! Gives me chills!! Joe Frazier was out of it after the big shot in the first round. Joe would have died in the ring before quitting. But the possibility of him dying in the ring would have happened if they didn’t stop it. Because Frazier would have kept coming

Sad to say, If I mention George Foreman, most people just laugh and know the overweight, bald boxer. I have to tell them how intimidating he was in his prime. Young George would have never feared Mike Tyson.

I remember once during an interview with George Foreman and he said that, one night, when he was a child, he was in the back seat of the family vehicle and he was looking at the signs of places like McDonald's, Burger King etc as they drove through a town but they were too poor to buy anything at these places and he said he just hoped, at some time in his life, he would have enough money to be able to buy something to eat from these places. Nothing but respect for such an humble man as George. And, I swear, I believe I saw him at an airport from a distance once. My mom and I were going to Germany and I wanted SO bad to go and see if it really was him and talk to him but we didn't have time because our plane was leaving soon. I still hope to have the honor of meeting him some day and asking him if he was at the airport in New York during the time I thought I saw him. I've wondered ever since that day if it was really him. Lol.
