The closed native terrarium has been blooming for 5 months. Take a look at the life that inhabits the terrarium ecosystem, from woodlice and earthworms to other insects.

#terrarium #nativeterrarium #nature

Woodlice and springtails decompose organic matter and recycle the nutrients back into the soil. Plants grow and die and adapt to the conditions in the jar, and slugs break down those that don't adapt in time. Centipedes and harvestmen, the predators of the jar, hunt down and control the populations of the other inhabitants, with their own numbers held in perfect equilibrium with the creatures they consume.

As of today I have an almost 2 year old ecosphere and a day old terrarium. Saw your original video on making a terrarium a couple weeks ago and that really inspired me to make my own, thanks a bunch

It's amazing to me that you can transplant an ecosystem (or at least a miniature snapshot of one) into a container and nurture it to the point where it's at least somewhat self sustaining. I wonder how complex of a terrarium the average person could build and maintain?

Just subscribed off the back of your tutorial video. Really interesting. I've got a large jar I keep for pasta which I'm gonna use to make one of these shortly!

I’m just wondering if you added the harvestmans after the tutorial. I watched it and didn’t see them. Also keep up the good work.

297 / 5000 I played your minecraft map: Kingdom of Avon It is the best minecraft PE map I have ever played. I know it's been 4 years since you posted it, but I don't think you ever forgot it. Thanks for those hours of fun! ;) (I also found the secret posters that you left talking about you. XD)
