In the summer of 1990 Tony Alliss was shot and killed on his land, in a case that was supposedly self-defence, despite an unlicensed shotgun being used on an unarmed man.
20 minutes later Leigh Alliss, Tony's son, was shot in what the defendants claimed was an accidental discharge, even though the shotgun in question was still warm from his father's killing, would need to have been reloaded, and the position of the gun would have made hitting Leigh all but impossible.
Regardless of such glaring discrepancies, the case was overturned, and a subsequent civil trial ended the same way, with the details of the crime never being put in front of a jury.
Leigh tells the story of that fateful day, where his life went from there, and his continued efforts to seek justice for what he believes is a cover up.
He also played his father in a short film about the shooting called Cowardice - A True Story, which is available to watch on YouTube. Link below.

Tony was a man I looked up to in my village, the man who drove around in a Land Rover and always put his hand up to me, even had the time for a chat and some strong words of advice, a man you hoped you could be one day, probably the nicest guy I’ve ever known and Leigh who is about to become my nephew in marriage I believe you and Lisa will make your dad so proud so mate whatever the outcome just remember your dad will only want what’s best for you, looking forward to your big day mate x
