My reaction pretty much matched you guys'. To be honest, I never really liked Deadpool as a character anyways. I think Deadpool was only remarkable because he was seen as daringly irreverent and iconoclastic, but I don't think that those are laudable character traits by themselves anyways, since, in my opinion, it basically reduces him to a joke, a simple tongue-in-cheek satire of the conventions of comic books. Now (in this trailer) it seems that these qualities have been wrung out to the point of mediocrity and novelty, where now they simply pursue whatever they think is edgy, wacky, or otherwise novel. For example,those scenes of Random Actor flatly telling Deadpool jokes about how he is so ugly just felt off because there was nothing else to them. It just felt like "Joke Auditioning." So yeah, it just felt like they were trying too hard.
So I think Deadpool as a joke is now actually unremarkable, predictable, and flaccid; the three things that such a character model is supposed to avoid.

This film doesn't look that bad but I agree with you and yer buddy Mitch, the humour is really shite! Well at least in the trailer it is.
Which doesn't make much sense, as it is a Red Band trailer, so why not just throw in the filthy humour Deadpool is known for?
It's certainly no Space Cop.
