I hope it helps you think through these things before you get your own channel up and running.

I’m not a true fan. This is the only video I’ve ever seen of yours, I’m not subscribed, and I honestly don’t know who you are. That doesn’t stop me from wishing you the best. An honest, amazing person like you deserves all the good in the world. I won’t be a fan, but perhaps I’ll be a small air conditioner. :)

Glad I came accross this. I went full time on youtube this year after my restaurant laid me off. Now, I work more hours per day than I did when I was in the restaurant. They are my hours and I get to be super creative, but it's not a cake walk

I'm 65 years old and just started a Youtube channel. It's a steep learning curve for me, but I'm having the time of my life. Thanks for the informative video and it will keep me going through the rough patches.

Authenticity, integrity, humility. This advice goes beyond YouTube or photography. Thank you Sean!

Integrity. The one word that kept crossing my mind on all of the points you made. You never once sacrifice integrity for the love of teaching.

At the end of the video I realised I watched this guy talk for 20 mins without B-rolls, inserts or anything but delivered the message without sweverin off point. The photographs are awesome btw.

Youtube was never meant to be about money and fame, but that's the pretty picture youtube painted to its users. Now everyone is chasing the dollar. Youtube used to be about YOU and the ability to "Broadcast yourself". My advice is to use youtube the way it was always meant to be.

I started mine for my own therapy after the hell I went through Executive Producing a feature film. Unleashing the hidden truth of the money hungry people behind distribution is helping indie filmmakers AND driving me sane. Thank you for this!

I can't believe I watched a talking-head video (with no b-roll) from beginning till end. It's very pleasant to hear you talk dude. I admire your presenting skills and integrity.

I know this is about building a photography channel, but I believe these lessons to be true for anyone. Great job, and thank you!

Here's a really strange comment: I do speak 3 languages, English included, but I've lost my high tunes during a work explosion and I have hard time understanding English, which is not my native language, if I don't use subtitles. Your video doesn't have subtitles activated and I THANK YOU FOR THIS FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART! I thank you, because Strangely I am able to understand what you say pretty clearly, even without subtitles! Thank you and yes, I am also trying to kick off my YT channel. You have my like and subscribe, good job! ❤️

Thank you Sean for reminding us to be our authentic selves. As a content creator, we should continue to create even if it’s only one person watching. We do it because we want to.
