My Wife and I have been on Medicare Advantage plans for 11 years, We have saved many times the possible annual maximum out of pocket cost. We have PPO's never an HMO. I self refer. My VA contact asked why I had so many specialists, My reply was becasue I can, and becasue I need them, Our network is very broad and includes every hospital in the region. I go to a gym where my plan pays the membership and pays me to go. I just had my annual dental check up and X rays. $0 cost. 4 peridontal cleanings per year. $0 30% off any other work. Again the network is huge I think both of my Medicare Advantage proviers have managed my care very well.

Great presentation! I will ignore all of the MA ads and go with traditional Medicare. I plan to apply as soon as I am able (1 June 2022). With Original Medicare Parts A & B, plus TRICARE for Life, I should be good to go.

Wow...this is awesome info...no advantage plans for me or my husband. On the surface it looks great...but a closer look shows that it's not cost effective.

My Aunt was put on medicare advantage without asking her. She kept on being denied coverage for rehab hospitals she originally was covered for under traditional medicare for example. So called medicare advantage should really be called "privatized medicare ran by for profit insurance compaines." When the "bottom line" matters more than coverage...coverage gets reduced. She went back to traditional during open enrollment and all it took was choosing a different drug plan (part D).

Great advice! So glad I spent hours watching YT videos learning before I succumbed to the one of the 500 offers for Medicare advantage. My wife and I are both on "plan N" now, less than $100./mo for both of us.

I understand when your on original Medicare you switch to a MA plan If you can switch back to original medicare if you can in your state, you'll be paying a much higher dollar amout to switch back to original medicare part B. I live in Pennsylvania.

I have spent less than $800 combined on all of my health care in 64 years. I just can't make myself pay $173 a month for nothing. I will take the free Part A and hope to negotiate the crazy price if something happens. They should lower the premium for those getting a lower amount of Social Security. For me this would reduce my benefits by over 20%!
