I did this a few months ago, practising A7 blues, I try to record my practice videos to see where I was to where I am now and to be honest when my wife says wow you come a very long way not just her but others, I still have miles and miles to go, but I am Ian Stich Disciple, when i started watching Ian's Never Lost , the Blues Primer, things that stood out and is ingrained in my head is coming home to the 1 , but throughout his various lessons, phrasing , and doing so much in one little box or area on the guitar, I will mention I received a like for this video someone said i should post it, but I kept it private, confidence is a major thing for this middle age fart, no matter if I win or not, Ian you have played a major part in my journey, we never meet in life but bud if I am ever in Florida beer is on me or whatever you fancy to drink just to say thanks, in this video I was trying to work on tones, and phrasing, so many videos watching Ian this is something I really wanted to work on, and continue to do so, being a big David Gilmour fan, when i seen David play live in Toronto in 2016 I was amazed at his less is more playing , this is it folks, please be kind I have only be at this for just over 2 years now, oh sorry parts of the video I just got a wee carried away lol, the guitar if your interested is a 2016 Vintage V6P with three Wilkinson P90'S . cheers oh you will hear at the end I was getting a bit knackered at the end lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO-H-cQ0KWg

Here's my entry: https://youtu.be/p3Qsh-LxjLM StichMethod helped me start climbing again after being stuck on that intermediate plateau for years (I forgot to say in the video that I've been playing 20 years but took a 5-year break when my first son was born). A big "Ah-ha! Moment" for me was this video on the MixoDorian Blues scale ( https://youtu.be/F_yW0W6ZbCU ). I started to see how musical ideas that I'd heard about (pentatonic, mixolydian, dorian, and blues scales) could actually be combined and used to create beautiful melodies while improvising, or compose fun riffs to add to your blues vocabulary. It really helped me see how everything fit together. I was able to use it to create this A Minor Bluesy riff of my own, as well as begin jamming with much more nuance and complexity than the minor pentatonic alone would give me. Thanks, Ian! Your videos are just the gamechangers I needed, and I'm learning more every day!

If I had to pick one Stitch Method video it would be the Never Lost video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHKjSBV0n3w). This video was the catalyst for me rediscovering guitar after a long hiatus. Here is my video talking about that and trying to show what kickstarted my guitar rediscovery adventure : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZS9P-iNt3M

So this is my entry
https://youtu.be/GqYS-7JcGVg
PLEASE excuse the truly awful sound â the quality was bad enough, but having a helicopter fly over mid-recording really took the biscuit!
My âahaâ video is âRealigning Your Basic Pentatonic Shapesâ
which I recommend everyone watches at least once!
3 minutes really wasnât enough to tell you how much I got from that one video â and all of your videoâs Iâve watched since â and I do tend to waffle on a bit.
But enjoy!
Oh, and apologies for the impersonation at the end!

READ ALL OF THIS!!!! Ok, I hear you. LOTS of Anxiety about either playing live or recording a video. So, here is the deal. I am not asking you to play. I am asking you to explain. If you are afraid of playing in front of people, It's cool, I get it. But pick up your guitar and make a video where you can just literally point to the frets and explain what you learned. I am not asking for a performance, I am asking you to explain, the why and how a video helped you. You pointing to the frets and occasionally picking a note is totally cool. I want to hear your enthusiasm and clarity. That is all. Now, if you don't know how to make a video, it is quite easy. I will probably make a video tonight and post it right here on how to make a simple video and get it onto YouTube. It does not need to be professional or edited, just you. The long and short of it is this, take our your phone and make a video.... if you need to record it 4 times to get it right fine, if you mess up, fine (This is StichMethod đ¤Ł). Once you have the video, either find a family member who has a YouTube account and send it to them. Show them this video and they will take if from there, OR, get the YouTube app on your device, upload the video, hit the share button, select copy link, and then post it as a comment here. Again, don't be afraid to try new things.... I believe in you, and you will be fine. Win the freakin guitar! EDIT: In order to keep track of the submissions, I am going to (with great appreciation) delete all comments that aren't submissions. Sorry to do that, just as the submissions come in, it is getting harder to keep track of them. Thanks for understanding. If you comment and have a question, I will of course answer it and erase the comment later so you can see the response. EDIT#2 : For some reason, some people can't get their links here. I really don't know why, I have tried everything. So, if your link doesn't show up when you leave a comment, just email the link to me @stichmethod@gmail.com/ and I will post it here. Yes, the comment will come from StichMethod, but that doesn't mean anything except that I had to post if for you. Rock o
