The craziest thing is that Kanye is the one that got me into 60s/70s rock music. My dad overheard this song playing from my room while I was working out, walked in, and said “hey, is that king crimson?” At the time I was 13/14 and didn’t know king crimson and I said “no, it’s kanye” then he told me that it was sampled from king crimson, later I looked it up and started listening to them, I’m 18 now and still listen.

3:16 to the end, crazy to think this could have been Ye's final album. "So exciting" turns to suicide as it echos and fades out and the ending is self explanitory. This, plus the melancholic feel of the album and especially the unreleased track "Never See Me Again" makes it feel like this was genuinely gonna be Kanye's last work

"I just needed time alone, with my own thoughts
Got treasures in my mind but couldn't open up my own vault
My childlike creativity, purity and honesty
Is honestly being crowded by these grown thoughts
Reality is catching up with me
Taking my inner child, I'm fighting for custody"
Some of the greatest lyrics of all time. I feel like this is 'old' Kanye describing 'new' Kanye perfectly, the one who says some dumb, misguided and hateful things. A musical fucking genius who could feel the biases and anger (adult thoughts, getting older) towards the world creeping in. I could cry every time I hear these lyrics. Probably because I'm getting older too, and Kanye PERFECTLY describes that feeling of 'losing' your childlike curiosity and purity, just wanting everyone to be happy, to something angrier, less patient or understanding.

"POWER" by Kanye West is more than just a song; it's a force of nature that has the power to reshape perspectives and ignite personal transformation. For many, myself included, this track serves as an anthem of self-empowerment, a sonic journey that resonates deeply within the core of one's being and catalyzes significant change. From its infectious beat to its introspective lyrics, "POWER" transcends the boundaries of conventional hip-hop, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of listeners worldwide.
The first time I heard "POWER," it was as if the universe had aligned to deliver a message tailored specifically for me. Kanye's unapologetic confidence and raw vulnerability spoke directly to the struggles and aspirations I grappled with daily. His words cut through the noise of doubt and uncertainty, offering a beacon of hope and assurance that greatness was within reach, waiting to be seized with unwavering determination.
With each subsequent listen, "POWER" became more than just a song; it became a mantra, a reminder of my inherent strength and potential. It pushed me to confront my fears and embrace the full extent of my capabilities, urging me to break free from the confines of self-imposed limitations and societal expectations. Through its pulsating rhythm and commanding cadence, the track emboldened me to chart my own path and define success on my terms.
But "POWER" isn't just about personal empowerment; it's also a reflection of Kanye's own journey of self-discovery and reinvention. His willingness to confront his flaws and vulnerabilities with unflinching honesty served as a blueprint for my own process of introspection and growth. In his words, I found solace in knowing that imperfection is not a barrier to success but rather a catalyst for evolution and innovation.
Moreover, "POWER" sparked a broader conversation about identity, fame, and the pursuit of artistic excellence. Kanye's unapologetic embrace of his own brilliance challenged societal norms and inspired a generation of artists to push the boundaries of creativity and expression. Through his music, he shattered stereotypes and defied expectations, proving that true power lies in authenticity and self-belief.
In the years since its release, "POWER" has remained a constant source of inspiration and empowerment in my life. It serves as a reminder of the transformative power of music and the profound impact it can have on our lives. Through its timeless message of resilience and self-empowerment, "POWER" continues to shape my worldview and fuel my relentless pursuit of greatness.

Never was a rap guy, but after playing the penthouse mission in Saint's Row 3 with this song in the background, I can't help but rock out to it from time to time.😎
