Ithink a lot of people misunderstand the dude stabbing himself: he wasn't successful. He didn't manage to kill himself in time, that's what he was trying to prevent by dying. A Voidout only happens when living matter meets antimatter from the beach, if he dies, there would be no Voidout, which is why the first guy that got shot didn't trigger one. You can even hear the guy scream right before he gets sucked into the BT's hand face

Honestly this part of the game scared the shit out of me. After this I always got so nervous to start delivering because you canât see them half the time, and when the baby would start crying so would I and I would hide behind a rock or something.
Edit: If you donât know whatâs happening, then play the game. Everything makes sense once you do.
