Been trying to figure out aim assist in Destiny, and I think I found a pretty good testing area in the Paradox Mission. There's an invisible hit box around enemies, and once your cross hairs enters the hit box, your bullets will get pulled towards the target. And the closer your cross hairs are to the target, the more the bullet will get pulled. Hand Cannons seem to have the most bullet magnetism, and Higher Aim Assist seems to pull the bullets more. Snipers have Zero bullet Magnetism. I'm not sure how the range stat plays into bullet magnetism. Need to do more tests.

Hand Cannons used: The Vanity, Hawkmoon, Red Hand IX. Aim assist 41, 50, 89, respectively
