You are absolutely right. Conan O'Brien was the last late night legend, and when he left, he left us with all of the late night pretenders. I mean, Conan O'Brien, David Letterman, Steve Allen, Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Craig Ferguson, Craig Kilborn, Tom Snyder, Arsenio Hall, and Jay Leno (to some extent) made late night TV fun and exciting. We're never going to have a late night talk show host like those guys ever again.

Conan was the last true late-night host ... The real killer of late-night was Jon Stewart, and it wasn't even his fault. After his success, the late-night-o-sphere tried to ape the Daily Show, but failed miserably. Jon Stewart filled a niche in late night, and that's where it should have stayed, as a niche. People don't care what a late-night hosts political affiliations are. Conan was the last host to stick with that policy
