In the following snippet of our Bulletproof Anatomy Shorts, I will be talking about the levator scapula muscle, which is one of the muscles that people always want to get massaged.

I get it, it can definitely be a very tight and troublesome muscle. It is locked between your cervical spine and the scapula, which means that it is involved in the movements of both of those structures and essentially in all movements of the head.

The name of the muscle gives away the its main function, which is to elevate the scapula. But, there is a lot more to it.

In the video I explain what other movements you have here and in the full video, which can be found in the Bulletproof Shoulders & Neck, I go into strength and flexibility for this muscle, as well as the rhomboids and ways to self treat them all.

I would like to express gratitude to @eli who was kind enough to again model for our body art shenanigans and @lia for making this drawing come to life!

🚨 Disclaimer: You should always consult a medical professional prior to attempting any exercises or techniques showed on this channel.

🙋🏽‍♂️Like always, you will find a lot more info in my Bulletproof Shoulders & Neck course and if you decided to give these a go, let me know how you get on!

Cool! Having it drawn on there is very helpful. I love these windows, it reminds me of a little guest room I used to stay in when I would be visiting a friend in Copenhagen. I wish we had Danish windows and doors in America. They are so much better

Thank you. I always thought this muscle runs down from skull base to the spine but it’s much different than that
