This is genuinely beautiful in concept and execution. Several weeks ago I was given a 3 year old's drawing of our dog. Our neighbor's kid and her are forming a secret friendship through the fence between our yards. I had to quietly ask his mom who it was a picture of, and my heart melted when she whispered back, "it's Molly." I put it on the fridge with our dog photos, took a pic and texted it to the neighbors. It's still there, and I smile every time I see it. He really nailed her floppy ears, and you really nailed those teeth!

There's a terrific old Mad magazine article from the '60s that turns kids' drawings of what they want for Xmas into actual toys, which are rendered in perfect, wanky detail exactly as the "kids" drew them.

Unnecessarily educational and wholesome at the same time, almost had an overdose here. But I think U never learned so much in one single video, so thanks!

This was really cool. I like how you explained and simplified all these art principles and made them easy to understand. Also, your interpretation of your daughters drawing looks wonderful!

This reminds me of the Face Off (monster makeup) tv show. In certain episodes, the challenge for the artists would be to bring to life, through makeup and costuming of an actor, a child's drawing. They'd have to balance feasability, objective artistic quality, and client demand. Those were some of the better episodes of an already good series, though judging was difficult. (In general, the judges were one of the best assets to the show, as was the lack of aggresive competition and the extant collaborative spirit of the contestants. (Reality tv without the catty drama.))

I love videos like these and the spiderverse one. They complement the theory vids so well. It helps to see how all those individual techniques and approaches work together in the making of one piece as a whole
