This video is about a man and a woman who are Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion in the video, who are in love and together, but are from different worlds, they are co-dependent on eachother, and her father does not approve of their relationship and is unhappy with it. Their town, community have a run down carnival, and her father makes her boyfriend undergo these routines and carnival stunts, which is why he has to jump into the parachute and through the fire. But both Follin and Oblivion need eachother. "I can't take things slowly, come then go away that's what they all do" Follin wants to fully commit to Oblivion and not have him leave her like so many others in her life have done. "Help me, cause I'm feeling shaky, tell me what's wrong with my brain cause I seem to have lost it" Follin is miserable being stuck at home with her father by herself, and having to live a life of having a carnival, and being trapped in that community, and without Oblivion being there. "Cause I am afraid of the light, yeah you know what I mean. And I can't sleep alone at night yeah you know what I mean" She feels almost like there is something wrong with her, and is afraid of what else is out there that she knows she needs to find. She knows that she needs to make a change and get out into the real world but she's scared. And now that she feels such a closeness to Oblivion, she doesn't want to go another night in that draining life by herself again. "Lonely, that's not quite my problem. I have all that I need haven't quite lost it" Follin expresses her denial of her state of mind, showing that she is indeed afraid of the light and telling herself that being lonely isn't her problem and that she doesn't need anything more, but she knows otherwise deep down. "I try so hard to be happy, but something goes wrong once again" Even when she tries to be positive, and no matter how hard she tries to put on a happy face in her mundane empty life, something always happens to remind her that she's not going to ever have life easy, such as Oblivion being burned so badly and needing to be cared for. "Please, please come and save me, tel me what's wrong with my brain cause I seem to have lost it" Follin desperately needs Oblivion to be there for her, for them to always depend on each other, because her state of mind is getting worse.
