A lot of people donāt realize that animals donāt automatically turn to fossils. The conditions for fossilization are very specific and thatās why we donāt have a more extensive fossil record.
You need:
1. Rapid Burial
2. Low Oxygen (Earth had a higher oxygen environment in the past)
3. Hard Parts like bone
4. Sedimentary Rock Formation
5. Lack of Geological Disturbances
6. Chemical Conditions (high PH and the right mineral content)
