I was in seventh grade in 1961 and remember hearing this for the first time at a Friday night "Fun Night." Loved Rosie's voice from the first note but never even thought I will be listening and loving this song almost 62 years later. This is what great music is and does to people! ALL TIME CLASSIC!! Hope the youngsters out there hear this!!!!

I’m 72. When I hear this I remember sock hops and slow dancing with girls who held the flip in their hair solidly in place with Aqua Net hair spray. That scent fueled my adolescence. Depending in your or her height, you could literally rest your chin on that flip.
While reminiscing about those days, we oldsters should bear in mind that youth is remembered fondly by most people because it’s the period when one has no real responsibilities.
Speaking of which, we can hardly shirk our generation’s responsibility for the current condition of the world since we have largely been in charge for the last 30 years. Our post war Baby Boom generation produced four Presidents (Clinton, GWBush, Obama and Trump) since 1990. You can decide for yourself how they stack up as representative of our generation. Also, the current group of younger people we like to decry are the children we raised. The state of the world, both good and bad, are mostly the result of our “leadership”.

I'm 46 and heard this song for the first time in a movie as a teenager. I fell in love with it and had to find it. I am now the mother to a 5 year old that I've sung this to since she was a baby and now it is a nightly ritual. It's a beautiful bonding moment as a sweet tender song- even between a single mom and her miracle baby. She knows it word for word! There's actually nothing sweeter than hearing her start to hum and whisper the lyrics as she settles in at night 💝
