He’s the first one to say, get a job so your art can be free. I agree with him. So many creators have been miserable or given up because they were taught your creativity has to pay for your life, or you’re no good.

Creativity is spiritual. U can't explain it . That's the beauty of it. U just have to be open to receiving that information and materialize it.

This is probably the best podcast of Rick Rubin mostly because Lewis was asking the exact questions that were appearing in my mind. Thank you!

Good morning I'm back. I worked in an office all my life got my bachelor's in business single worked in accounting now disabled due to a brain tumor and wasn't able to return to my profession. I started doing yard work due to anxiety after my surgery and realized that i was in the wrong field all along. I enjoy doing yardwork I got really good at it. I been trying t9 start my own lawn care business so i can stop living off this disability check i know i can do anything i set my mind to i dont believe in the word can't. I know i can do anything i set my mind and these videos help me be more determined to continue to succeed and not settle and believe that i am more and i will receive what is rightfully mine. Love you all

This interview is by far one of the best that ever happened in history. I’m blown away. And Lewis has a great contribution, for his questions were so timely. He could extract the best out of Rick, and that is a LOT

And just like that, my perspective has shifted. It reminds me of something a famous writer once said, "Write the story YOU want to read." Write the story YOU want to live in. Write the characters you want to be, you want to interact with, you want to know... the ones that you're in love with- even the antagonists.

When I became bedridden is when I realized I was a true artist. I am insanely happy every time I make an art piece.

"No matter what tools you use to create, the true instrument is you. And through you, the universe that surrounds us all comes into focus. The ability to look deeply is the root of creativity. To see past the ordinary and mundane and get to what might otherwise be invisible". I highly recommend his book "The Creative Act: A Way of Being".

Creating things that he likes, not what others like. And there is no pressure because if he doesn’t like something he’ll just keep working on it until he likes it. That resonated with me.

"Have an intentional energy of your environment. .. create a space for it to come." What you consume, people, music, books all of it. Who we are is made up of what we take in. "Really curate what comes in, for your highest good."

Kudos Mr. Howes. FANTASTIC interview. You asked poignant, pointed, powerful questions, and then gave Mr. Rubin the space and silence to fully answer the questions. Thank you. Thank you.
