This is a song by Paul McCartney and Wings in response to the events of Bloody Sunday (January 30, 1972) and the continued British occupation of the North Eastern counties of Ireland ("Northern Ireland"), denying Ireland total independence and resulting in segregation at the border. Though this was written during a time of much more conflict, and there's much more peace now, It's a great message!
