The buildup to this encounter was amazing.
As soon as Kain said "I believe I do", the whole weight of the entire series' story bore down upon these two, and I knew I was about to shape Nosgoth's history.
I don't care how big a setpiece you can destroy playing Uncharted, nothing compares to this kind of plot depth.
For LoK fans this was like Solid Snake & Liquid Ocelot atop the carrier in MGS4.

Simon Templeton and Michael Bell are so fucking awesome as Kain and Raziel respectively. Love this series for the epic narrative, intriguing puzzles and superb voice acting. The use of the Soul Reaver theme (Raziel's Theme) as control shifts from Kain to Raziel makes it that much more epic and tragic. Still one of the best stories in the interactive medium of videogames.

When Raziel absorbed Tyrel's soul, the Hylden Hash a' gik went with it into him. Every time Raziel's anger spiked, the green glow of the Hylden's influence emitted from his eyes, pushing him into conflict.
You can tell Raziel was suffering from Hylden-induced madness from his manic laughing during their battle.
After the fight was over, Raziel's anger subsided and the Hylden had no threshold to remain inside of him.
Had Raziel not fought Tyrel prior to encountering Kain, they're reunion may have been more amicable as in previous times in Soul Reaver 2.

8:19 I like how Raziel can swallow saliva even though he doesn't even have a lower jaw.

Kain is probably one of the most misunderstood anti-heroes to date. He wants to save the world but to do so he must become a monster and when everything was already in accordance to his plans, his monstrosities comes back to bite him in the ass. Well at least his corruption has been purged, he didn't really plan on that but it worked out in the end.

Playing this entire series, to eventually get to this moment. I always was in Raziel's camp before you discover whats really going on and to Switch and play as Raziel, letting a track like Ozar Midrashim kick in?
Im sure many of you feel the same but the sense of being overwhelmed by amazing story-telling and suspense to this moment I'd never experienced before and never will again I doubt.

If you're all still skeptical about Kain throwing Raziel off the the abyss, look no further. Kain never wanted to kill his prodigal son. He had many chances to do so when raziel was still weak. And at the last moment when Raziel is about to be absorbed by the reaver, kain never wanted him to be in an eternity of hunger.
Kain is a "good" guy.

I could listen to these two debate and argue for hours, with their rich vocabulary and Shakespearian theatrical way of speaking.
