Camus' absurdism is an antidote to our current dystopian milieu. Thank you so much for this podcast. If you feel moved to create more podcasts on his work, I would love to hear your thoughts and insights on his book "Create Dangerously: the Power and Responsibility of the Artist"and on his general views on making art in trying/dangerous times.

Great podcast! Congrats 👏🏼👏🏼 I’ve seen many materials about Camus and this podcast surprised me by its very high quality and your ability to describe his work clearly, making it simple to understand. A quick help… I’m not a native English speaker, and cc would help a lot. I also would like to fwd it to some people I know would be interested in the content, but they only speak Portuguese. Would be possible to have subtitles in Portuguese? I can help if possible 👊🏼

You’ve got an 8 second dead spot starting at 2:40. Also, try dropping the whispery voice, there’s something inauthentic sounding about it.

Camus thought because LIFE WAS ABSURD and transient, it must be enjoyed to the full at one's abandon without the inhibitions of social norms and moral laws. So, when his mother died, he couldn't stop himself from gratifying his urge to SMOKE and drink coffee, something frown upon by his society. His alienation was a classic expression of the fact that one cannot live within and without society and be a stranger.
SARTRE on the other hand, is a RATIONALIST and knew society and people are bound by reason. For him, things don't just happen and he chose to be on the side of the weak.
