NOO if anybody thinks doing artwork for packaging is lame, we can FIGHT THEM 👊👊👊 having work in "mundane" spaces makes it accessible and it's awesome!! Maybe because I've also been interested in packaging design, in fabric and surface design and like, wrapping paper and birthday cards, I think it's such a cool place to have your artwork. Not to mention, if you're EXCITED for something your artwork will be better, I can guarantee. I hope u get a contract with like Bath and Body Works or something so I can be like, "look I got that soap Kelsey Rodriguez did art for!!"

@KelseyRodriguez your idea of travelling around in your State to paint and take photos of storms is excellent. And there's someone on YouTube who does exactly that, but around the coastal shores of Scotland ! Her channel is called Sarah Burns Studio, and I'm 100% sure you'll like her work and will be galvanised to do the same. 😊

Thank you for sharing with us Kelsey, I genuinly loved this video, it was so inspirational 🥰 Not because I have similar goals, but just because it made me ask myself : "what do I want to do? What do I really like?" And because we are so lean on to think about us as business men and women, we sometime totally forget about thinking about the real meaning and vibrations that art brings to us on a personal level.

I think you're the only other young artist I have seen that is doing landscapes, that aren't studio ghibli, not saying that's bad it's a breath of fresh air. Storm chasing paintings sound like fun and I can hear how excited you are to do try these goals out. It makes me excited to see you do them!

During the lockdowns & beyond i've seen it time & time again: artists that do 2D art make 3D like no other. So this year I'm planning out a course to help teach people how to use Blender, a free software that I love & appreciate so much I ended up donating to the Blender Foundation. I'd really love to teach as I learn more and see how many options mixing mediums affords you.

Hi Kelsey, love your channel. Idk if you're into print on demand products for your business, but when you mentioned wanting to see your products on candles and other products, I remembered that I've been searching print on demand candle companies. I found a few that I think were located in the USA. You could sell these yourself or even just have a couple as a sample for approaching brands who have products you want to paint on. I do ocean paintings sometimes and I even found a sea breeze customizable candle I want to look into.
I just got into plein air painting last year too! I started with gouache and a small sketchbook before doing oils to make the early setup easier on myself. Good luck with plein air painting!

I'm so proud of you in this video. <3 The way you excitedly shared your art, and self promo-ed yourself!!!!!!
I honestly think the idea of videos where you film part of it outside the studio on adventures getting reference, or plein air painting sounds soo fun. Also I think you've literally inspired part of my new direction in style with the way you do your brush work, it made me want to have brush work shown in my pieces, and more hue variance.
Also lmao- me randomly picking which of my two accounts to comment on your video each time.

You are a huge inspiration Kelsey, I really enjoy all of your videos and they really helped me with my planning and decisions with my own illustrative journey. I'm still struggling to find what content I would provide if I had an art channel... (my worst fear is I try something I'm unsure of and it ends up totally lame, common problem right? 😅) but your videos are really changing my confidence. I may have zero ideas, but at least I'm not afraid to try. :) Thank you for everything you do.

Hell yeah! Looking great! 🙂 When you started talking about packaging I immediately thought of Buck Wild Brewing in Oakland. They name almost all of their brews after different aspects of the landscape. (their Alpenglow IPA rules) plus they’re an entirely gluten free operation and stocked in restaurants all around the bay!
