My sister (here in the US) in junior high had a section of her hair caught on fire by a kid in the hallway. Someone else put it out. No one ever told who it was and the school did nothing. My sister was homeschooled in high school due to deep depression. Imagine that. This was 20 years ago. The bullying is real.

Honestly, Mae bullying in school is horrific. I had experienced it most my school life I'd tell teachers and hear them say, "ignore it." In year 11 however I did defend myself but eventually got overwhelmed afterwards and started crying. A group of boys kept irritating me by making annoying noises, I said several times for them to stop they refused but then I smacked one of them and I was pushed into a table my friends saw it happen, btw them boys also bullied my friends. A few minutes later I washing my hands outside the toilets and the boys walked past making the same noises, once again told them stop but that was when I had my emotional breakdown and was furious fed up. I have been called coc-eyed when my left eye used to be turned in. I've been pushed in primary. I've been made to feel embarrassed in front of my friends in a PE lesson. I've been picked on due to me not being the best in PE in team sport, almost like they wouldn't win. I've been accused of staring at someone when I only looked their way for a few seconds. People just don't realise the impact of words and actions have to someone's self-esteem/self-confidence/wellbeing/mental health.
