Red takes the week in a very weird direction to talk about what she got up to in October! (It's space. It's always space. It is very very likely that the thing Red is enthused about has something to do with space.)

Mad props to Red for saying how rude it is to film strangers in public and for not caring that this video is different from the others

Petition for a new show where red just gets to talk about cool space stuff?

The sheer jubilance in Red's voice retelling the epiphany of "this is my (and Blue's) channel, I do not have to conform to the restrictions I once put on myself to justify what I do" is absolutely delightful. You can talk about anything!

Both Red and Blue should just do “I Wanna Talk About” videos! I’m totally down for that!!!

"space did something cool" you know how little that narrows it down, right

For future reference: Filipino culture has the Bakunawa, which is a dragon that causes lunar eclipses. It's a dragon known for eating the moon. There's all sorts of traditions. Filipinos usually make a lot of noise with pots and pans to keep the moon from being swallowed. There's a lot of different variations on the Bakunawa because the Philippines has tons of different tribes. Feel free to deep dive into it!

Obviously I know you are a real life person, but I can't lie, hearing Red's voice come out of an actual human was confusing for a whole of 3 secs. 🤣

I appreciate how they always get the same humans to portray them in a 3D form, it's nice consistency.

"The very thing that threatened to make this entire journey fruitless has made the effect all the more spectacular." - I like how Red is a storyteller first, space maniac second

I feel like Red’s noted interest in space, myths, and chaos will one day lead to her remembering her past as a god like being who wreaked havoc across the world. Can’t wait!😄

I'm a science teacher who's definitely going to use this video next time I'm teaching eclipses. The clear passion about the subject, the way you weave it into a story and link to the broader themes, and such a clear explanation of the complexities of orbital dynamics all go together to make it a superb resource. Thank you. Oh and I enjoyed the video very much as well.

Red realising she can talk about whatever the hell she wants is the new mood for 2023; but also so happy that you got to go and see the thing you're so hyped about

I love that you can hear as Red slides from conversational voice to teaching voice when she starts explaining eclipses. It's so subtle, but makes so much sense

Didn't think Red talking about space and eclipses like a cross between a natgeo documentary and an unhinged college student project was something i needed in my life, yet here we are.

I live in Salt Lake City, right near the path of the total eclipse. What's interesting is that the eclipse happened on the exact day of my little sister's wedding, and they had no idea they scheduled it during an eclipse until a month beforehand (they had set a date almost a year in advance). It was extremely cool, and a lot of my extended family that traveled here got to see their first eclipse ever.

Is this the start of a new era of OSP, where Red can just talk about whatever without needing an excuse? Because I'm here for it.

Petition for Red to start a series titled Astronomical Anecdotes, specifically so she can gush about cool space stuff without it disrupting the usual formula! Great vid as usual.

So this should just be called ‘story time with Red’ and I’d like a whole series now please

Oh good, Red has finally accepted that we'll enjoy anything OSP puts out. As long as they're passionate about what they're making, I'll continue to enjoy the content.
