This is probably one of the most underrated song of the 2000s. Especially for the final part, where all these featured artists come together, singing all the FOB's songs from the past (Elvis Costello, Brandon Urie, Travie McCoy, William Beckett and so on). It's like they are channeling all the power of music to push it through and don't let Pete and Patrick's suicidal thoughts to overcome them, unlike Donny Hathaway. I mean this song is simply a masterpiece. It deserved so much more recognition

So Pete wrote this song for Patrick when he was suffering with depression and Patrick is like singing to him, so we have this circle of affection between these two people that considered suicide at one point in their lives, but decided that there was more to live for. I think this video really speaks about Pete and how he wasn't there physically and emotionally. I just really love this song and how even now 5 years later Patrick still gets teary eyed when singing it. [edited part:] I think, after listening to this a few more times and doing a bit more research, that this song was a promise from Pete to Patrick that he would never commit suicide.

I have made it a tradition for myself to listen to What A Catch, Donnie every night before I sleep, so the thoughts aren't as strong and overpowering. To remind myself of the meaning and story behind this song. And when I can learn piano, I want to be able to play this song and perform it. For myself, my friends, and my family.
Patrick, Joe, Andy, Pete, you are all truly gifts to this world. Thank you.
