It is sad that it is 2023 and webcams still look like shit. How is it they can fit a better camera in a phone but not in all the space a webcam has to offer. A device that only performs one function and has infinitely more space then being shoved inside a phone that also has a hundred other components it should be no competition webcams should blow phones out of the water. What is even worse is every year the price of these webcams is keeps getting closer and closer to the price of dslrs that outperform them in every way. (I just hate the idea of having to carry a dslr around just to get video that looks decent.)

Have been searching for a video that actually shows webcams that go beyond the typical 2-3 always shown. This was incredibly helpful, thank you so much! I had no idea about the things that they could do-- also, I super appreciate knowing about the problems with tied-in software, Mac-specific cameras, etc. $300 is a lot to drop on a camera, only to get it and be frustrated.
