"We can't fix this thing, because then we might need to fix the other things too" - the best argument for long-lasting oppressive regimes

Imagine thousands dead in protests. It takes real balls to stand up for change in those conditions. These women are incredible. I hope their future is better than their past.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable" I'm always looking forward to your last lines. They always get an 8 or 9. This was a definite 10.

As an Iranian, I think I speak for everyone when I say this time we aren't giving up. It's been more than 50 days and we'll keep at it. Give me death or give me liberty.

I wish all the best to the people of Iran. A fascinating country and culture, not to mention its people. Greetings from Brazil.

When ordinary people risk their lives to be heard, you know they’ve had enough.

The way you described the IRGC reminds me of the Roman Praetorian Guard, with how they undermine and oppose any ruler who tries to enact liberal reforms that may threaten their power, and avoiding these reforms only increases their power as they become more entrenched in the government.

Having recently started getting to know some Iranian students, I appreciate this video review and the insight it gave into the situation. These friends are hurting, and understanding why is important to be a good friend for them.

I live in the Netherlands, I'm eastern european and I've visited Iran twice. All the people I've met were nice, educated and friendly. And they all hated the regime! It can not possibly last...

I always love the little sayings at the end of the videos that sum up the content of the video in a sentence. Another great video!

Iran and Russia spend so much time and effort and money trying to destabilize their rivals that they forget to actually look after their own people.

As a Venezuelan the whole ordeal of the protest and the brutal repression gives me a deja vu from the large protests movements in 2014 and 2017, the lack of central organization, realistic and clear demands plus the ruthlesness of chavismo defeated the protests but discontent reminds at all time high. Many have lost hope for change and began to migrate or focused their energy on surviving in the midst of the economic collapse, that has saped a lot of energy from the movement but the potential of unrest remains aswell as the desire for change.

These protests almost seem like the 1979 protests, when people got fed up with the previous regime. Whenever I'd talked to Iranians, a huge majority of them gave me an impression of highly educated people who don't seem satisfied living in a theocratic country. It's also worth mentioning that most of the population is young, comparing to European countries. The future is in today's youth. Greetings from Croatia!

Whereas I had it in my head that the Iranian elites were using modern western culture as an example to avoid, I quite liked the comparison to Glasnost.
