As a Venezuelan the whole ordeal of the protest and the brutal repression gives me a deja vu from the large protests movements in 2014 and 2017, the lack of central organization, realistic and clear demands plus the ruthlesness of chavismo defeated the protests but discontent reminds at all time high. Many have lost hope for change and began to migrate or focused their energy on surviving in the midst of the economic collapse, that has saped a lot of energy from the movement but the potential of unrest remains aswell as the desire for change.

These protests almost seem like the 1979 protests, when people got fed up with the previous regime. Whenever I'd talked to Iranians, a huge majority of them gave me an impression of highly educated people who don't seem satisfied living in a theocratic country. It's also worth mentioning that most of the population is young, comparing to European countries. The future is in today's youth. Greetings from Croatia!
