I asked my ex to compliment me, something he liked about me, as a little fun exercise to give each other feedback and say sth nice to bright up the day. It took him minutes to come up with "you have high expectations". That was it. The saddest thing was, I didn't recognise it in that moment - he haven't liked me for quite some time. It hurts so much to live with someone for months who doesn't like you.
